Voices Against Violence
22nd November 2025
‘Voices Against Violence’ was a powerful panel event hosted by Scrub The Stigma Cambridge, the Coalition Against Sexual Exploitation and the Cambridge Black Medics Society.
Hosted at Emmanuel College, University of Cambridge, we welcomed a panel of inspiring speakers:
Dr Danielle Adewusi (Founder, Scrub The Stigma)
Warda Mohamed (Founder, Lasting Support)
Sema Gornall (CEO, The Vavengers)
The event began with an introduction to Scrub The Stigma and the Vavengers, followed by facts and figures on violence against women and girls. We then moved into the panel discussion, focusing on the profound impact of gender-based violence on women’s health, the role of our healthcare system and government in protecting women and girls, and the experiences of those from marginalised and minority communities.
We then enjoyed a networking session with refreshments, followed by the Q&A session and close.
