Education is one of the core pillars of Scrub the Stigma and in March we took an exciting step forward in our mission to improve women’s health awareness within the community.

Our Educate team hosted its very first workshop for sixth form students, delivering an interactive and judgment-free session focused on menstrual hygiene, the menstrual cycle and common women’s health conditions. The event was designed to provide students with accessible, evidence-based information while creating a safe space for discussion and learning. Throughout the session, students explored topics that are often overlooked or surrounded by misinformation.

By challenging common myths and encouraging open conversation, we aimed to empower young people with the knowledge and confidence to engage in discussions about women’s health. What made the event particularly meaningful was the enthusiasm and engagement shown by the students. Thoughtful questions, active participation, and honest discussions highlighted the importance of providing opportunities for young people to learn about these topics in an inclusive and supportive environment.

This event marks an important milestone for our Educate programme and represents just the beginning of our outreach efforts. We look forward to continuing our work with schools and communities as we strive to dismantle the stigma surrounding women’s health through education, advocacy and outreach.
