Educate Lagos 2026

9th April

Educate Lagos was one of Scrub The Stigma’s key outreach initiatives, created to empower adolescent girls in Lagos, Nigeria with the knowledge and resources needed to better understand and manage their menstrual health.

Delivered in collaboration with FeRMHA (Female Reproductive and Mental Health Awareness Initiative), the workshop took place at Ojuwole Senior Comprehensive High School in Mushin, Lagos, reaching 151 girls aged 13–18.

The session covered menstrual hygiene, cycle tracking, recognising what is normal versus abnormal and understanding when to seek medical support. Students also received special edition educational cycle diaries, with information on help seeking, alongside menstrual hygiene resources including pads, liners and educational materials. An interactive Q&A session encouraged open conversation and helped create a safe space for learning and discussion.
