Cycle of Womanhood
This event explored women’s health across three pivotal stages — Childhood, Womanhood, and Sagehood. By highlighting the unique challenges and considerations at each phase, we shed light on the importance of women’s health and wellbeing across the lifespan.
Our esteemed speakers brought invaluable insights and personal perspectives to the conversation. Our founder, Dr. Danielle Adewusi, emphasised the need to champion women’s health from childhood to elder years. Shamsa Araweelo, FGM survivor and activist, recounted her experience and ongoing work raising awareness and driving policy change around female genital mutilation. Karen Hobbs, comedian and ambassador for the UK’s leading gynaecological cancer charity, The Eve Appeal, spoke about her journey with cervical cancer and the importance of destigmatising sexual health.
The event also served as a fundraiser, raising over £1,000, which was donated to Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital in Edo State, Nigeria, to cover the medical bills of women and children in need.
